Lewis County records are split among the Sheriff's Office, the courts in Lowville and local towns or villages, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, the state corrections system, and the New York State Sex Offender Registry. This private reference site organizes the official channels so readers can identify the right counter, phone line, or government portal without treating unlike records as one product.

Why We Built This Site

New York uses separate systems for agency reports, jail intake, court files, fingerprint records, prison custody, and registry listings. In Lewis County, the Sheriff and Jail work from Outer Stowe Street, while County Court and the County Clerk are at the courthouse in Lowville. DCJS holds the official fingerprint-based state history, but it does not offer a public name search. The site brings those boundaries, official contacts, fees, and request routes together so a reader can start with the office that created or filed the record.
